349 - The impact of language learning on the wellbeing of third and fourth age learners and their carers?

What this challenge is about

Over the next 25 years the number of people living with dementia is predicted to double in the United Kingdom and while there have been advancements with medications, no drug currently has the same effect as postponing dementia as learning a second language. We want to tackle issues connected to our ageing society by providing non pharmaceutical options for older adults to age in a healthy manner. In addition to the cognitive benefits, we want to improve the mental health, enhance the quality of life, and increase the visibility and opportunities for older adults in care home settings.
