58 - Surface Water Integrated Monitoring (SWIM)

What this challenge is about

This Challenge aims to create community-owned and low-cost environmental monitoring solutions, particularly in the Amazon, where Indigenous communities are stewards of biodiverse areas. The project will build on previous research to monitor surface water using a wetland monitoring system using ground data, satellite remote sensing, and drone surveillance, with a prototype USWV called 'FLOAT' tested in situ by Indigenous researchers.
