150 - Improving health professional-patient communication and shared decision-making in international cardiology services.

What this challenge is about

The vision of this challenge is to improve the communication and shared decision-making process that occurs when cardiology health professionals, patients, and those close to them, consider whether, or not, to have a medical treatment. Health policy and clinical guidelines emphasise the importance of effective communication and shared decision-making about healthcare and treatments. However, in real life practice this does not always happen with those from underserved populations disproportionately affected.

In this challenge we aim to:

1) Grow and consolidate our international network of stakeholders interested in improving health professional-patients communication and treatment decision-making

2) Develop a suite of accessible resources to improve communication and shared-decision making in interventional cardiology settings.
