350 - Cost benefit analysis of primary prevention to end violence against women and girls

What this challenge is about

Men’s violence against women and girls (MVAWG), can take many forms, both online and offline, including harassment, domestic abuse and online misogyny. Most work done to address this has focused on supporting victims, is important and recognised by Government investment. To stop violence from happening, we must address the root-causes of it, adopting primary prevention methods to limit harmful attitudes and behaviours from developing. There is currently little investment (Governmental or otherwise) in this Primary Prevention work. We need research to show the economic and social benefit of preventing MVAWG to support the case for investment.
